What specific problem are you solving?
Every year, 14 million tons of plastic and pollutants enter our ecosystems—choking biodiversity both on land and at sea. Meanwhile, waste from human activity—like hair—is incinerated, wasted or dumped, despite being a natural, adsorbent, biodegradable fibre and regenerative resource.
Plastic pollution and organic waste mismanagement are pressing global challenges, particularly in agriculture and maritime industries. Over 6.5% of Europe’s plastic waste comes from agriculture, with plastic mulch contributing to soil degradation and microplastic contamination (European Commission, 2022). Meanwhile, maritime industries generate millions of tonnes of synthetic waste, threatening marine ecosystems.
At the same time, 2.2 billion kg of hair waste is discarded globally each year, an overlooked organic resource with high nitrogen content and oil adsorption properties. Instead of being repurposed, most hair waste is incinerated or sent to landfills, contributing to environmental degradation and waste management issues.
Farmers and coastal industries lack sustainable, affordable alternatives to plastic-based materials, perpetuating reliance on harmful, non-biodegradable products. Without circular solutions, these sectors continue to contribute to plastic pollution, soil degradation and regulatory challenges. Addressing this issue requires innovative, bio-based alternatives that close the loop on waste while reducing environmental impact.
What is your solution?
CLIC RECYCLE transforms human hair waste into regenerative eco-products for water preservation, regenerative cultivation, design, and more. Using a circular model, advanced technology, and smart monitoring, we reduce plastic and chemical pollution, conserve water and empower communities.
Innovative Solutions
CLIC TERRA Biodegradable Mulch: Made from recycled human hair and natural fibers, it conserves water, restores soil health and prevents chemical and plastic pollution. The Smart Biodegradable Mulch integrates IoT sensors to optimize water usage and enhance crop resilience, offering a sustainable alternative for agriculture, vineyards, olive groves and urban greenery.
CLIC SEA Smart Decontamination Barriers: These nature-based solutions adsorb hydrocarbons and heavy metals, improving water quality. Integrated IoT sensors provide real-time monitoring, supporting marine ecosystem protection in ports, marinas and coastal industries.
CLIC ARCH Bio-composites: Sustainable panels and acoustic insulation offering soundproofing, thermal regulation, and durability—reducing reliance on synthetic materials in design and construction.
Our process integrates biotechnology, material science, AI-driven analytics and blockchain for traceability, ensuring transparent waste-to-product tracking and carbon credit generation.
By upcycling waste into high-performance circular solutions, CLIC RECYCLE reduces plastic pollution and delivers scalable, nature-based alternatives for a more sustainable future.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
CLIC RECYCLE serves a diverse range of industries, including hairdressers, farmers, coastal industries, architects, and the construction sector, offering sustainable, high-impact alternatives to synthetic materials. Our solutions align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and have been certified as a sustainable development startup by Google. Additionally, our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based on ISO 14044 and 14040 for agriculture and maritime applications confirms significant environmental benefits.
Farmers & Agricultural Communities – CLIC TERRA Biodegradable Mulch improves soil health, water retention, and carbon sequestration, reducing reliance on plastic and chemical-intensive farming. The LCA shows lower CO₂ emissions and microplastic contamination compared to traditional mulch.
Coastal Industries & Port Authorities – CLIC SEA Decontamination Barriers adsorb hydrocarbons, heavy metals and microplastics, helping maritime industries comply with environmental regulations while protecting marine ecosystems. The LCA demonstrates efficient pollutant adsorption with minimal ecological footprint.
Sustainable Construction & Interior Design – Our bio-composite insulation and reinforcement materials reduce synthetic waste, enhance energy efficiency, and improve indoor air quality.
Through data and science backed, circular economy solutions, CLIC RECYCLE reduces environmental harm, empowers industries with sustainable alternatives, and contributes to a cleaner, more resilient future.
