What specific problem are you solving?
The Regeneration Project addresses the mental health crisis among Ukrainian women caused by the full-scale war. Millions have been facing extreme stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion while balancing roles as caregivers, workers, and community members. Many suffer in silence, believing their struggles are insignificant, leading to chronic stress, isolation, and increased risk of PTSD. War-related trauma affects up to 30% of conflict-impacted individuals globally. While immediate trauma assistance is available, long-term psychological support is critically lacking. As global conflicts and crises escalate, scalable mental health solutions are essential. Regeneration’s innovative model simultaneously trains specialists and provides psychological support, helping Ukrainian women process trauma before it escalates into PTSD. It is a scalable blueprint for mass psychological distress, applicable to other war-affected or crisis-stricken regions, offering a proactive, cost-effective way to prevent PTSD and support long-term resilience. Over 2,000 women have already built emotional resilience, regained control, and re-engaged in social and economic life. By supporting women’s mental health, Regeneration strengthens Ukraine’s recovery while offering a global solution for communities facing large-scale trauma.
What is your solution?
The Regeneration Project is an innovative online mental health initiative for women affected by war, combining professional psychological support with trauma recovery training. It has two key components: (1) training psychologists and social workers in advanced therapeutic methods, and (2) providing psychological support to women affected by war and social disruption. Our approach integrates process-oriented and body-oriented psychology with group facilitation to prevent PTSD, promote post-traumatic growth, and help women reclaim their strength. Delivered through online support groups, the program ensures accessibility across Ukraine and adaptability worldwide. We foster innovation by helping women process trauma in the present, rather than waiting for it to fade. The online format makes the system scalable and sustainable, enabling long-term impact. Our international team, including experts from Ukraine and six other countries, ensures high-quality care and strengthens local mental health capacity. In collaboration with a Ukrainian startup specializing in mental health diagnostics, we integrate real-time psychological assessments to track participant progress. With SOLVE Grant support, we will expand our reach, train more professionals, and strengthen the resilience of thousands of women, building a scalable, sustainable, and globally relevant mental health model.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
The Regeneration Project supports women navigating the long-term psychological effects of war, displacement, and other social disruption. While many organizations focus on immediate trauma relief, millions of women worldwide silently endure burnout and emotional overload, believing others are in greater need. Our solution bridges this gap by providing structured psychological support through online group dynamics facilitation and process-oriented psychology, fostering resilience and post-traumatic growth. Group work has proven to be the most effective during traumatic and stressful experiences, offering shared understanding and emotional validation. Through online group sessions, accessible even in high-risk areas via Zoom, we empower women to regain emotional stability, develop coping strategies, and build supportive networks. Beneficiaries report lasting improvements in well-being, resilience, and self-confidence. The program includes both direct support for women and professional training for mental health specialists, ensuring a sustainable, long-term impact. By strengthening women's mental health, we enable them to support their families, contribute to their communities, and participate in economic recovery. This project is the first in history to offer trauma support during an ongoing crisis rather than after, making it an innovative and scalable model for global resilience-building in any conflict-affected region.
