What specific problem are you solving?
The speed of the transition to cheaper, cleaner energy is slower than the (AI-fueled) growth in energy demand. Extensive interviews with leaders from business, academic, government, and community sectors have highlighted several interconnected factors holding back the opportunity:
● Insufficient planning and coordination at the local level between the public and private sectors.
● Shortage of skilled workers, with required technical and management skills.
● Contracting Businesses struggle to access affordable growth finance and bigger projects to scale.
● Economic barriers in Low to Moderate Income (LMI) Communities: Limited entrepreneurship support and funding to create and scale new businesses.
Consequently communities remain exposed to high energy costs, pollution and low paid paid jobs. Businesses struggle to create new, localized supply chains quickly enough to deliver clean & sustained growth.
What is your solution?
cDots equips communities with the connections, skills, capital, and support necessary to accelerate the Clean Energy Economy. We run a 3-Stage Program for the deployment of affordable, Clean Energy in a specific region. Our role is to Convene, Connect and Coordinate across the following stages:
1. The Market Builder:
-Lead stakeholder engagement, Project Pipeline building and attracting capital.
-Establish a Clean Energy Entrepreneurship Hub in the local College / University.
-Deliver clean energy upskilling programs that equip individuals from the community with the technical skills required to implement the project pipeline.
2. The Accelerator:
-Accelerate existing Clean Energy SMEs through mentorship and finance
-Attract talent and support new contractor creation from LMI communities
3. The Scaler:
-Accelerate Local Business through National Expansion via growing network of Hubs in other states
Technology supports the program across all 3 stages as follows:
-CRM to map ecosystem, capture stakeholder engagement, track project pipeline and support business development
-Educational Tools. VR & AR to deliver technical upskilling (e.g. solar panel installation, HVAC etc)
-Software for building and managing capital stack
Our end-to-end program equips communities to create and grow businesses that deliver energy resilience, generate prosperity and tackle environmental challenges.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
cDots focuses on the nexus of low- and moderate-income (LMI) communities and public and private sector energy needs. Whereas LMI communities remain exposed to high energy costs, pollution, and low-paid jobs, businesses struggle to source enough clean energy and create new, localized supply chains and skills needed for clean and sustained growth. Increasingly negative climate impacts from GHG growth affect us all.
Specifically cDots has a signed MoU with the Muscogee Creek Nation (MCN) to implement this three stage approach first with them. Census data shows that citizens living in these counties are in 95+ percentile on Energy Burden, Health & Workforce Development metrics.
This program presents a transformational opportunity for the Nation, its citizens and for public and private sector organisations in the region. The MCN is the first federally recognised tribe to have completed the EPA Comprehensive Climate Action Plan. This has generated a pipeline of projects that will reduce costs, increase energy generation, generate well paying jobs and reduce pollution.
