What specific problem are you solving?
UNICEF reports that approximately 240 million children globally are born with special needs. These children are 49% less likely to attend school, 42% less likely to develop foundational literacy and numeracy skills, 24% less likely to receive early stimulation and responsive care, and 51% more likely to experience unhappiness. In Pakistan, around 2.5 million children live with disabilities, but there are only about 1,000 special education institutions nationwide. Due to a severe shortage of trained professionals, high therapy costs, and limited infrastructure—especially in low-income and rural areas—most children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome are unable to access the support they need. Traditional therapy is often expensive, repetitive, and disengaging, which leads to resistance among children, emotional fatigue in parents and educators, and slower developmental progress. Digital solutions, while promising, are typically inaccessible due to the need for high-end hardware or technical expertise. WonderTree bridges this gap by offering gamified, augmented reality-based therapy and learning tools that are fun, effective, and accessible through a basic laptop or tablet. Our solution is 80% more affordable than conventional therapy and tailored to the local context in terms of language, culture, and affordability—making special education truly inclusive and scalable in Pakistan.
