What specific problem are you solving?
Children are growing up in an online world that is often unsafe, overwhelming, and not designed for their developmental needs. Globally, one in three internet users is a child (UNICEF, 2017), yet 90% of children aged 8–12 report online risks like exposure to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and data tracking. In the UK, where URSOR is based, Ofcom’s 2023 report found 47% of children aged 8–12 have seen something online that made them uncomfortable, while only 30% of parents feel confident their child is safe online.
Most existing tools rely on surveillance or blocking, which restricts access without encouraging positive digital engagement. Search engines are made for adults, leaving children overwhelmed by content they can’t understand or safely explore. This lack of age-appropriate environments risks children’s safety and limits their learning and curiosity.
The problem is global and growing, especially as children increasingly rely on digital tools for education and connection. The AstroSafe browser addresses this by combining rigorous content filtering with educational value, empowering children to explore, learn, and grow safely—both at home and in school.
What is your solution?
URSOR’s AstroSafe Browser is a secure, AI-powered web browser designed specifically for children aged 5–18 to safely explore the internet at home and in school. Unlike traditional browsers or parental control tools, AstroSafe is built from the ground up with children in mind—making the internet not only safer, but also more educational and developmentally age-appropriate.
The browser uses a real-time AI filtering system to block harmful content such as violence, explicit material, ads, and data tracking, while curating access to over 1 million trusted educational resources. Instead of merely blocking sites, AstroSafe actively guides children toward enriching content based on their developmental stage and reading level.
For young users who struggle with complex search results, we've also built a proprietary kid-friendly wiki—an age-appropriate knowledge hub designed to deliver understandable, relevant information that aligns with what they’re curious about. Parents and educators are equipped with user-friendly dashboards to monitor browsing habits and personalize access, empowering transparency and trust.
AstroSafe works across mobile and desktop devices and is currently used by over 50,000 children globally. It is designed to grow with each child, safely expanding their digital world as they mature.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
URSOR serves children aged 5–18, particularly those navigating the internet without the tools to do so safely, as well as the parents, guardians, and educators responsible for their well-being. Today, one in three internet users globally is a child (UNICEF, 2017), yet most digital spaces are designed for adults. Most children navigating online environments are in need of guardrails to support their learning and development. They are therefore underserved by tools that simply block access as a way to keep them safe - without offering educational alternatives or facilitating comprehension.
URSOR’s AstroSafe browser directly addresses this gap by providing a safer, kid-first online environment that filters harmful content and curates educational, age-appropriate resources. For children, it enables more secure digital exploration, helping them build digital literacy and healthy habits. For parents and educators, it offers transparency, oversight, and peace of mind.
Our "Buy One, Give One" licensing model ensures that underserved schools and low-income families gain access, supporting educational equity across communities. With over 50,000 active users globally—20,000 in classrooms and 30,000 at home—URSOR is already demonstrating that safety and learning can go hand in hand in the digital age.
