Fragmented Healthcare: A Looming Crisis in Nigeria's Health Sector
Nigeria's healthcare system faces significant challenges, including fragmented health information and inadequate data management. This affects the quality of care and overall health outcomes, particularly for mothers and infants.
Fragmented health information and lack of credible data hinder effective healthcare planning. Recent statistics reveal Nigeria's concerning prevalence of preventable diseases and medical scenarios.
Nigeria has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world, with 814 deaths per 100,000 live births (WHO, 2020). The country also has a high infant mortality rate, with 69 deaths per 1,000 live births (UNICEF, 2020). A unified solution is necessary to address these challenges and improve health outcomes. A collaborative effort is needed to unify healthcare facilities, improve data management, and enhance patient care. By working together, we can create a more effective and efficient healthcare system that benefits the entire population.
