What specific problem are you solving?
Cogniphant addresses the widespread underdiagnosis and insufficient support for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) among school-age children, especially in low-resource educational settings across Latin America. Globally, ADHD affects approximately 5–7% of children (Polanczyk et al., 2014), meaning over 129 million children and adolescents live with ADHD worldwide (Thomas et al., 2015). Despite this prevalence, fewer than 20% of affected children in low- and middle-income countries ever receive a formal diagnosis or adequate intervention (Bitta et al., 2017). For example, in Colombia, limited teacher knowledge and misconceptions about ADHD significantly hinder proper identification, resulting in many children being mislabeled as merely disruptive or problematic rather than receiving essential support (Talero-Gutiérrez et al., 2018; Pineda et al., 2014). A key contributor is the lack of teacher training, culturally appropriate diagnostic tools, and scalable resources, leading educators to feel unequipped to identify and effectively support neurodiverse students (Sherman et al., 2008). Consequently, millions of students experience preventable academic underachievement, heightened risk of mental health issues, and social exclusion (Harpin et al., 2016). Cogniphant bridges this critical gap by providing scalable, AI-powered ADHD screening and targeted training resources directly to schools, enabling early identification, informed classroom strategies, and inclusive educational environments.
What is your solution?
Cogniphant is a digital platform that uses artificial intelligence to screen for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in schools and provide tailored support for students, educators, and families. Designed for easy integration into school routines, it’s especially effective in low-resource communities across Latin America and other emerging regions. Here’s how it works: Quick, science-based screening: Teachers complete an intuitive digital assessment grounded in validated behavioral and cognitive indicators—no specialists required. AI-powered insights: Our algorithms analyze the data and generate a personalized report for each flagged student, highlighting their strengths and areas needing support. Immediate, personalized strategies: Each report includes actionable recommendations for teachers and caregivers, adapted to the student’s context and designed for both classroom and home environments. Training and resources: Educators receive training in Cogniphant’s inclusive ADHD methodology. We also provide practical materials for parents and older students to reinforce strategies and build understanding. Progress tracking: For students flagged by the screening, our platform enables ongoing monitoring to refine support strategies and measure engagement and improvement over time. Cogniphant empowers schools to identify neurodivergent learners early, respond inclusively, and foster better educational, emotional, and life outcomes for every child.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Cogniphant serves children and adolescents aged 6 to 19 who show signs of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), especially those in low-resource schools across Latin America and other underserved regions. While our solution supports learners of all ages, the greatest impact comes when intervention starts early—when brains are still developing and school experiences shape life trajectories. These students are often misunderstood, mislabeled, or dismissed as troublemakers due to stigma, limited awareness, and lack of access to mental health professionals. As a result, they face higher risks of school failure, social exclusion, anxiety, depression, and even contact with the justice system. Cogniphant addresses these gaps by empowering schools with tools to identify ADHD early and provide immediate, tailored support. Our AI-powered screening generates individual profiles highlighting strengths and needs. Teachers and families receive practical strategies and training, fostering inclusive classrooms and emotionally safe environments. By making early identification and support accessible, Cogniphant helps students stay in school, build self-esteem, avoid comorbidities, and unlock their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally. We’re not just improving learning—we’re transforming futures.
