Low-income youth face persistent barriers to post-secondary success, including limited access to advising, career exploration, and the skill-building opportunities needed for economic mobility. In the U.S., approximately 16.6 million young people (ages 14–24) live in low-income families. Yet the national student-to-counselor ratio stands at 385:1—far above the recommended 250:1—a standard met by only 18% of U.S. school districts. Additionally, despite increasingly compelling reasons for youth to pursue higher-ed, FAFSA completion rates have dropped to just 45%, further restricting access to postsecondary pathways. As automation and AI rapidly transform the workforce, early career coaching and guidance is more critical than ever. Unfortunately, too many students are being left behind—particularly in schools serving low-income communities, where career services are stretched thin (and are likely to worsen given massive federal education cuts currently underway). These youth are often left without the tools, guidance, or confidence to pursue high-demand jobs with family-supporting wages. Get Schooled’s powerful solution expands access to college guidance and early career coaching through an all-in-one platform that delivers compelling content and mobile-friendly, AI-powered coaching. By equipping youth with timely, personalized support—right on their phones—we can help them navigate postsecondary pathways and accelerate economic mobility at scale.
