What specific problem are you solving?
AquametTechnologies is addressing the challenge of high fish mortality and low productivity among smallholder fish farmers in Ghana, which contributes to the country’s growing fish deficit and economic instability. Smallholder farmers make up 80% of Ghana’s fish farming population but produce less than 20% of the total output, primarily due to poor water quality management and inefficient feed utilization. Without access to real-time data on key water parameters such as temperature, dissolved oxygen, and pH, farmers struggle to maintain optimal conditions, leading to high fish mortalities of up to 45% per production cycle. This issue is not just local but global—over 90% of the world's aquaculture production comes from small-scale farms, many of which face similar challenges. Poor farm management also leads to wasted feed, increased methane emissions, and economic losses. In Ghana, the annual fish supply gap exceeds 60% of local demand, forcing the country to rely heavily on imports. By providing affordable, real-time water quality monitoring and data-driven farm management tools, our solution directly tackles fish mortality, inefficient feed use, and financial losses, ensuring higher yields, better livelihoods, and a more sustainable aquaculture industry
What is your solution?

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our primary beneficiaries are smallholder fish farmers in Ghana, particularly those in the Volta, Eastern, and Ashanti regions. Many of these farmers rely on aquaculture for their livelihood, but lack access to cost-effective tools to maximize their yield. These farmers can lose over. By providing efficient and affordable tools that cut down fish losses, we directly enhance their productivity and profitability while contributing to national food security.
