What specific problem are you solving?
Behavioral challenges are among the most common barriers to learning, especially for students with learning differences. In the U.S., 68% of K-8 educators report daily disruptions due to behavior (Pew, 2022), but most schools lack the personnel or training to provide timely, appropriate support. Globally, over 250 million children with disabilities are systematically excluded from education, with over 85% not attending school in LMICs (UNESCO, 2025).
Students—particularly those from BIPOC, multilingual, low-income, and neurodivergent communities—are more likely to face exclusionary discipline or be misclassified due to undiagnosed disabilities. This deepens disparities in literacy, graduation rates, and can cost countries up to 7% of their GDP due to reduced workforce participation and long-term support needs (UNESCO, 2025).
Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)—a legal prerequisite for IEPs and behavioral interventions—are often delayed or never completed, due to national and global shortages of trained professionals and time-consuming manual processes.
MyCuraJOY addresses this gap by using clinician-supervised AI to simplify and accelerate the FBA and behavior plan process. It empowers educators and families to implement inclusive, evidence-based support while meeting IDEA and MTSS requirements, reducing delays, and improving outcomes for students who are often left behind.
What is your solution?
MyCuraJOY is a clinician-supervised AI platform that automates the most time- and expertise-intensive parts of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. Designed for non-specialist educators and caregivers, the platform enables proactive, real-time collaboration across schools and homes.
Core Features:
FBA Automation: Educators, clinicians, parents, and students input behavioral data (via voice, chat, or form) through familiar channels like WhatsApp, Discord, or mobile app. The AI classifies antecedents, behaviors, and consequences using machine learning models validated by Dr. Marc Lanovaz (University of Montreal).
AI Drafts & Clinician Review: The system generates draft FBAs and intervention plans, flagged for clinician oversight through an admin dashboard.
Gamified SEL Skill-Building: Students engage in personalized “quests” that track behavior, social-emotional learning (SEL), and goal completion.
Culturally Responsive Coaches: Multilingual AI coaches (English, Spanish, Chinese) offer support via text and social media, guiding students and families discreetly.
MyCuraJOY functions both as a direct service to schools and as a system-level capacity builder, helping districts reduce administrative burden, ensure compliance, and improve student outcomes.
