What specific problem are you solving?
Nigeria's health care system faces a barrage of crises, amongst which are two (2) pivotal ones: poor access to quality care in rural communities and fragmented digital health data systems in urban settings. Over 83 million Nigerians, which accounts for almost 40% of the population, live in rural areas with limited access to trained health professionals, health education, or digital health tools. Similarly, the urban populations face inefficiencies in data management, referral pathways, and follow-up, especially for the vulnerable groups like indigents, adolescents, women, children under 5 (CU-5), and people living with HIV.
The persistent disconnect between patients, health facilities, access to service delivery points, and real-time health information systems worsens health outcomes, informed decision-making, and delays timely interventions. Inadequate surveillance, poor integration of mHealth platforms, and data bottlenecks continue to affect Nigeria’s ability to deliver equitable, people-centered healthcare. Our solution, supported by research from WHO, USAID, and Nigeria’s own digital health strategy, is set to bridge these gaps with technology that works everywhere, irrespective of location, socioeconomic status, or demography.
What is your solution?
HealthLink NG is a locally-built, mobile-first digital health platform developed by QuadPoint to bridge Nigeria’s urban-rural health divide. This technologically enabled solution combines the power of mobile apps, SMS/USSD, and AI to deliver equitable, real-time healthcare solutions to the last mile. Regardless of location, HealthLink meets clients/users in their location with or without internet access.
At its core, HealthLink NG empowers Community Health Workers (CHWs) with AI-assisted decision trees, symptom checkers, and referral protocols via smartphones or feature phones. It enables accurate, quick screenings for conditions like malaria, maternal risk factors, and other health needs, while supporting immediate referrals to proximal facilities. For users without smartphones, USSD and SMS channels offer health education, appointment reminders, and basic triage in local languages.
The platform also features an intuitive Health Intelligence Dashboard, allowing Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs)),Local Government Authority ( LGA) health officers, state ministries and other relevant state actors to monitor trends, stock levels, and outreach metrics, closing the data gap in health system visibility
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
HealthLink NG targets underserved communities in both rural and urban Nigeria. Primary users include:
Community Health Workers (CHWs)
Adolescents and youth
Mothers and caregivers
People With Disability (PWD)
PHCs and LGAs
For CHWs, it simplifies decision-making through guided workflows and instant referrals. For adolescents and women, it offers confidential, culturally-sensitive information via mobile devices even without internet access. For local and national authorities, it provides real-time insights into service delivery gaps and helps strengthen health system resilience.
In our pilot sites, there are over 4,000 users engaged with the tool in just 8 months, with 87% reporting improved access to services. Our vision is simply to ensure that no Nigerian is left behind because of their residential location or the phone type being used.
