What specific problem are you solving?
Underresourced students—particularly first-generation, low-income, and minority youth—face systemic barriers transitioning from high school to postsecondary education and the workforce. Academic advisors lack the predictive tools to identify students at risk of attrition or underemployment early enough to intervene effectively.
Current systems are reactive, siloed, and fail to surface key trends. Nationally, only 16% of low-income, first-generation college students earn a bachelor’s degree in six years, and just 29% transition into degree-aligned employment within a year. The problem is especially acute in urban and rural areas where institutions lack the capacity for personalized support. Our solution addresses the lack of accessible, data-driven insights that perpetuate these outcomes and widen equity gaps.
What is your solution?
InsightsAI is a student success platform designed to support academic advisors in guiding underresourced students from high school to college and into the workforce. Currently, the platform offers postsecondary tracking, real-time dashboards, and outcome reporting tools that help institutions monitor student progress and identify barriers to success. Advisors use the platform to track key data points related to academic performance, engagement, and career readiness, drawing from institutional records and national datasets.
In collaboration with Solve, we aim to integrate AI-powered capabilities, transitioning the tool from a reactive system to a predictive and prescriptive one. With AI, the platform will be able to identify at-risk students earlier, recommend targeted interventions, and generate personalized career pathways using real-time labor market data. Future enhancements will include AI chatbots for advisor and student support, automated reporting, and machine learning models forecasting retention and postsecondary outcomes. These additions will reduce advisor workload, improve student success rates, and drive more equitable outcomes across diverse learning environments.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution serves academic advisors and underresourced students ages 16 and over, focusing on first-generation, low-income, and minority learners in urban and rural areas. These students often lack access to tailored academic support, career guidance, and systemic resources that foster long-term success.
Advisors are overwhelmed by caseloads and outdated tools, leading to missed warning signs and ineffective interventions. Our solution provides advisors with AI-powered insights and intervention strategies while students benefit from early risk detection, career coaching, and personalized upskilling pathways. This approach improves student engagement, boosts retention, and strengthens transitions to degree-aligned employment, creating a more equitable postsecondary ecosystem.
