What specific problem are you solving?
Mathematics is often a source of anxiety and avoidance for many, influencing major life decisions such as career choices. This fear typically stems from foundational issues in the educational system, where students in elementary school start to develop significant learning gaps.
These gaps are caused by systemic flaws like one-size-fits-all teaching methods, a focus on memorization over understanding, and a lack of real-life applications in lessons. Additionally, external factors—such as family problems, lack of digital access, neurodiversity, or economic hardship—further hinder students' ability to learn effectively. For example, 88% of students from the poorest households perform poorly in math, compared to 55% of their wealthier peers, according to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB, 2023). This inequality is evident in global assessments like PISA, where Latin America and the Caribbean rank below average, showing an educational delay of around five years.
To address this, it's crucial to equip students with the right tools and personalized content tailored to their specific needs. Zoombers seeks to do just that by offering a personalized learning experience that makes math more accessible, engaging, and relevant—transforming it from a dreaded subject into a pathway for greater opportunities.
What is your solution?

It uses video games aligned with the TIMSS framework and local curriculum standards to help teachers introduce, guide, and conclude math topics interactively. Zoombers has customizable avatars and gameplay mechanics that support emotional self-management and social engagement, enabling learning through play, collaboration, and global competition. By analyzing every interaction, Zoombers' AI engine detects learning gaps, and generates tailored assignments to reinforce or advance students' knowledge. Zoombers equips teachers with clear, real-time data to support all learners, including those with disabilities and neurodivergent profiles. It integrates an educational guidance program that enhances teaching quality and helps institutions meet global academic benchmarks. The platform has proven successful in special education settings and public high schools, assisting students in improving math proficiency.
The STEM-focused Zoombers community engages teachers, students, and parents through training and international math tournaments, such as the 2024 event with thousands of participants from ten countries.
