What specific problem are you solving?
Major corporations are responding to stakeholder interests (customers, investors, and governments) by committing to Net Zero targets aligned with the Paris Agreement and the GHG Protocol. Many of them acknowledge that their biggest source of, and the hardest emissions to reduce, are from their vast and fragmented. value chains (scope 3 emissions). For example Coca Cola, one of our customers, has 1.2 million convenience stores in Mexico that act as one of its sales channels. Given that the biggest source of emissions comes from energy, and in Mexico over 70% of the electricity comes from fossil fuels, companies need to decarbonize their supply chain’s energy consumption to reach Net Zero.
What is your solution?
Solfium is a full-service provider of distributed solar energy solutions and complementary technologies (batteries, and EV chargers). Our unique approach facilitates companies’ decarbonization of their entire value chain (own facilities, suppliers, distributors, employee homes, partners) with solar energy. Our retail solution for small commercial and residential clients is enabled by our mobile app that makes the customer journey simple: from quoting to getting financing, coordinating the installation, and post-sales support. We combine this with industrial solar installations in our corporate customers’ facilities to provide a full solution for companies to reduce their direct and indirect (value chain) CO2 emissions. Our corporate dashboard integrates and automates the reporting of their entire value chain.
The operational model “Under the hood” works as a “fully managed” marketplace. We partner with 1] local installers across Mexico 2] premium selected manufacturers 3] specialized third-party logistics provider; and 4] financing partners. Interaction between all players is orchestrated through our tech stack, (corporate dashboard, the customer / installer apps, and the internal software to manage the ecosystem.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
We serve both corporate customers and retail customers. For corporate, we provide an integrated solution to deploy, measure and report decarbonization programs (through solar energy) across their entire value chain.
For retail customers, which could be a small supplier or distributor of one of our corporates (e.g. Coca Cola convenience stores) or employee homes, provide a simple way to adopt solar through the Solfium app and to leverage their corporate incentives (discount, financing, subsidy, etc.).
With our model we indirectly support small solar installations businesses which we train and certify to bring under the Solfium umbrella, and then provide with pipeline, higher margins and growth opportunities.
