Elevator pitch: https://www.loom.com/share/64485e79938843dd8e77c027b2a201b8?sid=2f184f54-18e2-4ecf-9be2-9dcca9837ca5 In recent years, more parents are rethinking what education should look like. Nearly 60% have shifted their educational preferences and expectations for their children since the pandemic, and almost 80% believe that learning can—and should—happen anywhere, not confined to the four walls of a classroom (Source: Tyton Partners). Traditional schooling has long disappointed modern families, who criticize its rigidity, outdated methods, lack of personalization, and limited focus on mental health and social-emotional learning (SEL). As a result, approximately half (48%) of K-12 parents are now actively seeking alternatives that will provide better outcomes for their growing children (Source: Tyton Partners). But when that alternative is homeschooling, the burden shifts entirely to parents—many of whom are working full-time and lack the training needed to curate a high-quality, comprehensive curriculum. Too often, the outcome is fragmented and fails to meet grade-level standards. That’s the challenge we’re solving: How can we build a new type of school that’s digital-first, deeply engaging, and more importantly, precise—allowing children everywhere to learn, grow, and socialize without compromise?
What is your solution?
A child's wide-eyed “WOOOAH, SO COOL” is music to any parent or teacher’s ears—and that’s exactly the kind of joy we get to witness in our product demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRsoQdJU7xs&t=1s Our solution is an immersive learning environment designed for Generation Alpha, giving modern families the modern education they’ve been seeking: technology-driven with a human touch. Using an approach we call "precision education" and powered by AI, bina balances standardization and personalization in a way that hasn't been done before. Our fully digitized, Magic School Bus-style experiential classrooms provide teachers with real-time insights into each student’s reading fluency, social behavior, and learning progress—along with tailored, timely recommendations on how best to support them. Studies show that multi-sensory experiences accelerate learning retention (Source: Journal of Educational Psychology), and student engagement increases by 55% when real-time feedback tools are used (Source: Gallup). Rather than staring passively at Zoom, students can quite literally move through their learning journey with their own avatars and interact with the environment. They might see words light up as they read aloud or hear a thump after tapping a virtual drum.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
bina works to directly and meaningfully improve the educational circumstances of four particular groups of families and learners. Looking ahead, we envision bina growing into a SaaS solution, partnering with local schools and governments to further scale precision education for these communities. 1) High-Mobility Families – Families that want to provide consistent, non-disruptive educational experiences for their children while moving locations. This could include: digital nomads, military families, diplomatic families, and those seeking asylum. 2) Educational Desert Households – Families that seek high-quality, English-language education not easily accessible to them, whether it’s because they live in rural areas or in non-English speaking countries. 3) Modern Schooling Advocates & Homeschool Converts – Families that are globally, socially, and culturally-aware, and often find in-person schools to either be too conservative or liberal to the extremes. This may include families that previously tried homeschooling or have considered it, but would much rather entrust a licensed, experienced educator to teach their children and fully manage the curriculum. 4) Children Special Education Needs – Families with a child/children that have special education needs not met by traditional classrooms.
