What specific problem are you solving?
With 70% of children in developing countries unable to read by age 10, accessible, multilingual reading and educational resources are essential. Traditionally, these children lack access to books due to cost and availability. Illiteracy affects 1 in 5 people globally, with around 3 billion struggling with basic reading and writing, leading to significant economic, social, and health impacts. Sub-Saharan Africa, where we work, has the highest rates of education exclusion, with 182 million adults illiterate and many children out of school. This results in welfare dependency, unemployment, low self-esteem, and increased crime and poverty.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Because our multilingual solution can be used on OR offline, it impacts the lives of children and people globally and most importantly those in rural and developing nations. Delivery is via Smartphones and mobile devices. As a strategic partner of the World Literacy Foundation, we traveled to Uganda and Kenya last year to visit the Sun Books initiatives that use mobile devices to supplement educational materials in rural areas, serving over 12,000 kids in Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria and S. Africa.
Because our E-learning platform can be used to deliver any type of dynamic content, we built an award winning mobile app called, StoryTime International that creates and delivers unlimited story content in 137 languages. This has provided these children, who have little access to books and other educational materials, unlimited stories and activities that augment imagination and literacy for early readers. By partnering with countries, organizations and publishers of current educational curricula being used in classrooms, we can ensure that all children have access to educational content at their fingertips in English and their native language. We are currently in discussions with Uganda's Ministry of Education to digitize the national curriculum and bring technology and digital literacy into the classrooms.
