What specific problem are you solving?
We are tackling the challenge of post-harvest losses, low agricultural productivity, and reliance on carbon-intensive processing methods in rural farming communities. Many smallholder farmers lack access to efficient agro-processing equipment, leading to significant food waste, income loss, and environmental harm. By providing solar-powered, productive-use equipment, we enable farmers to process their produce efficiently, extend shelf life, increase earnings, and reduce carbon footprints associated with diesel or petrol-powered machinery.
What is your solution?
Our solution provides solar-powered, productive-use equipment to smallholder farmers, enabling them to process their harvests efficiently, reduce post-harvest losses, and increase their income—all while cutting down carbon emissions.
We manufacture and distribute agro-processing machines, such as solar-powered Hammer mills, oil extractors, and cassava processors, that run on clean energy instead of diesel. These machines are designed for off-grid rural areas where access to electricity is limited or nonexistent. By integrating solar power, we help farmers transition from traditional, high-emission processing methods to a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative.
Our technology works by harnessing solar energy through photovoltaic panels, which store power in batteries to ensure continuous operation. This allows farmers to process their produce anytime, without relying on expensive and polluting fossil fuels.
Beyond equipment supply, we offer training and maintenance support to ensure long-term usability and impact. This approach not only improves food security and economic stability for rural farmers but also contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon footprints in agriculture.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution serves smallholder farmers, agro-processors, and rural farming communities, particularly those in off-grid areas with limited access to electricity. These groups often struggle with post-harvest losses, low productivity, and high operational costs due to reliance on manual labor or expensive, polluting fuel-powered machines.
By providing solar-powered processing equipment, we empower farmers to process their produce efficiently, reducing waste and increasing the value of their crops. This leads to higher incomes, improved food security, and better livelihoods. Women, who make up a significant portion of the agricultural workforce, especially benefit from reduced labor intensity and increased economic opportunities.
Additionally, rural communities also gain access to skill development through our training programs, ensuring they can operate and maintain the equipment effectively.
Ultimately, our solution transforms agriculture into a more sustainable and profitable sector for those who need it most, bridging the gap between energy access, productivity, and climate resilience.
