What specific problem are you solving?
170 million children in India grow up in high-adversity contexts - facing child sexual abuse, child labour, neglect, and toxic stress. Globally, over 1 billion children experience violence each year (WHO). These traumas, known as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), impact not just mental health, but also education, immunity, and lifelong potential. The real problem is that caregivers i.e. Anganwadi workers, ASHAs, teachers, and mothers - see these signs, but aren’t trained to respond. Trauma goes undetected. Systems stay reactive. The window for healing is missed. Without community capacity to recognize and act on ACEs, cycles of trauma deepen intergenerational harm. Protsahan solves for this infrastructural care gap at the last mile.
What is your solution?
CareVerse is an AI-powered, mobile-first platform that transforms India’s frontline workforce into trauma-informed caregivers. We build bite-sized, DIY learning journeys in regional Indian languages, co-created with caregivers, using stories, art, and real-life trauma case studies. The content is AI-personalized based on learner profile (ASHA, teacher, peer leader, mother), geography, and comfort level. Offline-first tech ensures access in low-connectivity areas via WhatsApp, SMS, and voice. We integrate helplines and live escalation pathways to act on real-time disclosures. Our solution converts Protsahan’s 15 years of on-ground training with state systems into scalable, accessible, community-owned infrastructure, where every caregiver becomes part of a connected, informed care system at the last mile.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
We serve frontline caregivers - India’s 1.3 million anganwadi workers, 1 million ASHAs, 9.5 million teachers, and millions of mothers and youth leaders - who are closest to vulnerable children but often untrained in how to identify or respond to trauma. These caregivers support the 170 million children under 18 growing up in poverty, gender-based violence, and neglect. CareVerse equips them with the knowledge, clarity, and confidence to act: “What are the signs of trauma? How do I support this child? Where do I escalate?” - these questions become answerable. For children, this means trauma is no longer hidden. It is recognized, named, and addressed early, before institutionalization, before lifelong harm. By decentralizing trauma response and centering community trust, CareVerse enables healing to begin where harm is first noticed. Rooted in Protsahan’s lived experience - working with trafficked girls and abandoned children in shelters and brothels - this solution is not born of theory, but in grassroots wisdom of child care. And it’s powered by a simple idea: no child’s pain should go unseen.
