What specific problem are you solving?
Nigeria faces a critical shortage of healthcare facilities and professionals, especially in rural areas mostly due to the japa syndrome . Millions lack access to quality, affordable healthcare, leading to preventable deaths from treatable conditions such as malaria, maternal complications, and hypertension. Existing health systems are overburdened, and data collection is sparse or inaccurate, hampering targeted interventions.
What is your solution?
HealthLink Naija is a mobile health platform that brings quality healthcare to underserved communities in Nigeria through solar-powered clinics and AI technology. Our solution uses mobile clinics equipped with diagnostic tools and tablets running an AI-powered app. Community health workers use the app to input symptoms, receive diagnostic suggestions, and connect patients to remote doctors for teleconsultations. The AI tool supports decision-making, especially in areas with few or no doctors. Each mobile clinic runs on solar energy, making it ideal for off-grid communities. The HealthLink Naija app also works offline and is available in local languages, ensuring inclusivity. Services include basic diagnostics (like malaria and blood pressure checks), maternal care, health education, and referrals for advanced treatment. We also collect anonymized health data to improve service delivery and inform health authorities. HealthLink Naija not only treats patients but strengthens the local healthcare system by supporting health workers and providing real-time insights. The result: faster diagnosis, better access to care, and healthier communities. A demo video is currently being developed and will be shared soon.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
