What specific problem are you solving?
The Problem We Are Solving In Nigeria, smallholder farmers and market women face severe post-harvest losses due to the lack of reliable cold storage facilities and inadequate electricity supply. Perishable produce such as tomatoes, peppers, and vegetables spoil quickly, leading to financial losses, food waste, and economic instability. Scale of the Problem: 40-50% of perishable food in Nigeria is lost before reaching consumers due to poor preservation. Market women often sell at a loss due to spoilage, reducing their income and worsening poverty. The lack of cold storage forces farmers to sell cheaply during peak harvest, limiting their profitability. Globally, 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted yearly, with fruits and vegetables making up 40-50% of losses. In sub-Saharan Africa, post-harvest losses amount to $4 billion annually. Key Factors: Lack of Cold Storage – No affordable preservation options for farmers and traders. Unreliable Electricity – Prevents effective refrigeration. Food Waste & Financial Losses – Reduces potential income for smallholder farmers. Our Solution: We provide solar-powered cold chain storage, preserving fresh produce, reducing losses, and improving farmers' and traders’ incomes. This sustainable, renewable-energy-driven solution enhances food security and strengthens local economies

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Who Our Solution Serves & Its Impact Our solution serves smallholder farmers in rural areas and petty market women in Nigeria who lack access to reliable electricity and cold storage facilities for preserving perishable goods like tomatoes, peppers, and vegetables. How They Are Underserved Lack of Reliable Electricity – Many rural communities and markets experience prolonged and frequent power outages, making refrigeration impossible. High Post-Harvest Losses – Farmers lose 40-50% of their farm produce due to spoilage, leading to significant financial loss. Low Bargaining Power – Without proper storage, traders sell at a loss during peak harvest seasons. Food Insecurity – Spoiled food reduces access to fresh, healthy produce for consumers and farmers alike. How Our Solution Addresses Their Needs Solar-Powered Cold Storage – Provides a sustainable, off-grid preservation solution. Reduces Spoilage – Extends the shelf life of produce, preventing losses. Boosts Income – Farmers and traders can store surplus stock and sell at better prices. Enhances Market Stability – Ensures a steady supply of fresh fruits and vegetables, strengthening local economies. By empowering farmers and market women with affordable and efficient cold storage system, our solution enhances economic stability, food security, and sustainability in Nigeria’s agricultural sector
