What specific problem are you solving?
MindGoal tackles the growing mental health crisis among early adolescents (ages 7–14) specifically in the vulnerable communities by experiential learning, emotional learning, and digital engagement to build resilience and self-esteem. Globally, 1 in 7 adolescents experiences a mental health disorder, with anxiety and depression as leading causes of illness—yet most go untreated (WHO, 2021). MindGoal bridges this gap by integrating movement and mindfulness in a fun, relatable format. In its first three years, the platform aims to reach over 10,000 youth—particularly in underserved communities in Latin Amaerica—helping improve emotional regulation, confidence, and help-seeking behavior by up to 40%.
What is your solution?
MindGoal is an innovative digital platform that leverages AI, gamification, and behavioral science to improve the mental health of adolescents in vulnerable communities. At its core, MindGoal uses a smart, adaptive learning engine to personalize each user’s experience based on their emotional responses, progress, and engagement patterns. This ensures that young people receive the right support at the right time—without needing constant adult supervision or access to traditional mental health services. The platform transforms emotional wellness into a gamified journey, where users progress through interactive, sports-inspired modules that teach coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-confidence. MindGoal’s AI technology monitors engagement and mood indicators to recommend specific activities, such as mindfulness exercises, reflection prompts, or movement-based tasks that align with each user’s current state. MindGoal also uses data analytics to generate insights for educators or mentors (while protecting user privacy), helping them track well-being trends across communities. Its lightweight, mobile-friendly design makes it accessible even in low-resource settings. By combining AI-driven personalization, gamified emotional learning, and real-time adaptation, MindGoal is redefining how mental health support is delivered to youth—making it proactive, engaging, and deeply relevant to the challenges young people face today.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
MindGoal targets youth in vulnerable communities, particularly those aged 7-14, who face significant mental health challenges. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 5 adolescents globally suffers from a mental health disorder, with anxiety, depression, and stress being the most prevalent. In low-income or conflict-affected areas, these rates are often higher, with over 30% of youth in such regions reporting symptoms of mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. For youth in marginalized communities, access to mental health services is often scarce or stigmatized, exacerbating their struggles. In Latin America, for example, 30% of adolescents are at risk of mental health issues, yet only 1 in 4 receives the support they need (UNICEF). This leaves many young people without the tools to manage their emotions, cope with adversity, or build resilience. MindGoal is designed to bridge this gap by offering a holistic, tech-driven solution that combines emotional wellness with physical activity, making it accessible to those with limited access to traditional mental health services. By providing self-paced, interactive learning and mindfulness exercises, MindGoal empowers youth to improve their mental health, boost self-confidence, and develop crucial life skills in a safe and supportive environment.
