What specific problem are you solving?
E-Nalanda addresses the critical challenges faced by underserved and resource-disconnected communities in India, where outdated pedagogical methods contribute to poor learning outcomes and low student retention. Government schools, particularly in marginalized regions, still rely on traditional approaches that fail to engage students—especially in subjects like science, where interest and performance are notably low. This leaves students in educationally stunted environments, left behind by burgeoning digital advancements and deprived of the learning opportunities they deserve. By integrating gamification and interactive learning, E-Nalanda transforms the learning experience for all students, making science education not only accessible but also engaging and relevant. Our solution empowers students to overcome educational inequities, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in an increasingly digital and competitive world.

I have developed a platform for gamified learning that enables students to strengthen their foundational understanding of elementary science education through interactive and engaging gameplay. The platform features science-based games such as Build-a-Cell (Biology), Light the Circuit (Physics), and React Right (Chemistry) which help students grasp concepts like cell structure, electric circuits, and chemical reactions in an intuitive manner. The primary aim is to build students’ confidence in science from an early age, transforming abstract theories into tangible, hands-on experiences. In India, the quality of science education at the foundational level is alarmingly inadequate. According to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), nearly 50% of grade 5 students cannot read texts meant for grade 2, and over 70% struggle with basic scientific reasoning. Further, only 28% of rural students in grade 8 can correctly interpret everyday science experiments. E-Nalanda, through its gamified modules in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, empowers students to build and reinforce core scientific concepts interactively—one click at a time. By replacing rote memorization with engaging, concept-driven learning experiences, E-Nalanda aims to transform traditional pedagogies in schools where rote learning still dominates, fostering deeper understanding and curiosity in science classrooms.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
E-Nalanda primarily serves government school students in Haryana, India, who face significant barriers to quality STEM education due to a lack of school infrastructure. Many of these students, who hail from rural and/or economically disadvantaged backgrounds, often lack access to engaging learning resources, personalized instruction, and modern educational tools that their urban counterparts enjoy. This educational inequity perpetuates cycles of limited opportunity and economic disparity. Our solution transforms their educational journey through an AI-powered gamified platform, specifically designed for STEM subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. E-Nalanda adapts to each student's learning pace, cognitive patterns, and knowledge gaps, creating personalized learning pathways that traditional classroom settings cannot provide. The machine learning algorithms continuously evolve with student interactions, offering increasingly refined educational experiences that address individual challenges. Beyond content delivery, E-Nalanda seeks to fundamentally reshape how students engage with science. The gamification elements transform abstract scientific concepts into immersive challenges, fostering scientific curiosity. Students develop critical thinking skills as they navigate game-based scenarios that mirror real-world applications of scientific principles. In ultimatum, E-Nalanda hopes to cultivate a generation of innovative thinkers who approach problems with scientific rigor and creativity, positioning themselves as contributors to India's knowledge economy and technological advancement.
