Joaquin Gastelbondo is an anthropologist with a master’s degree in Agriculture & Rural Development. He has more than 10 years of professional experience in project management, consulting, research, project design, monitoring, and implementing development programs and policies in rural contexts. Gastelbondo currently manages the implementation of three different grants–the largest project has a budget of $4 million and has benefited more than 800 families through the establishment of agroforestry systems. As a professional, his interests reside in regenerative agriculture, agroforestry systems, sustainable value chains, Non-Timber Forest Products, reforestation, sustainable food systems, and food security and sovereignty. He also holds academic interests in agriculture and rural development, political ecology, economic anthropology, and ecological anthropology.
