Anna Bertmar Khan
Acting Director, Program, Dubai Cares
Anna Bertmar Khan is a senior development and humanitarian professional. She is the Senior Technical Advisor for Dubai Cares and overlooks program strategy, research and M&E for education. In her humanitarian work, Anna has had different leadership roles for Medecins Sans Frontieres since 1998, including as general director for its Swedish office, in charge of setting up its office in Karachi Pakistan and as founder of MSF in Lebanon. In her development work, Anna has been head of international programs for Plan International in Sweden, as well as worked with local NGOs in Pakistan to build poor communities’ ability to protect its children from the exploitation of child labor. She has worked with the World Bank to address the root causes to the institutionalization of children in Armenia. Anna has also worked for the United Nations in Iraq and Bahrain, and has been an entrepreneur in the restaurant business. Anna has a MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics. She is based in Dubai with her husband and three children.
