Daniel was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia.

He earned his Bachelors degree in Economics from Universidad Carlos III of Madrid and his Masters Degree in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics.

During his professional career, Daniel has held different positions in the public and private sectors, such as: Chief of Staff of the Colombian Ministry of Defense, Research Director of Acoplasticos, Deputy Director of Economic Studies and Advisor to the Director of the Colombian Nacional Planning Department, Associate Researcher of the Colombian Private Council of Competitiveness and Advisor for the Budget Division of the Colombian Ministry of Finance.

Since April 2017, he has been the President of Acoplasticos, which is the business association that represents the plastics, petrochemical, chemical, paint, ink, rubber and man-made fibre industries in Colombia.
