Senior Officer, Digital Marketing and Product
Jenny Zhao is Senior Officer, Digital Marketing and Product at MIT Solve. She leads Solve's digital and marketing campaigns, website development and product management, as well as trademark enforcement and intellectual property. She also serves on Solve's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Tiger Team, which formed in 2020 from the Black Lives Matter movement. Solve is a marketplace for social impact innovation with a mission to solve world challenges—opening MIT’s renowned innovation ecosystem to social entrepreneurs and innovators around the world.
Jenny brings together her skills in creative design, software product management, and visual storytelling to build brands that make an insurgent social impact. She has a specific passion for companies focused on the environment and sustainability. As Director of Digital Marketing for Clover Food Lab, she led the first digital campaigns for this locally-sourced fast casual chain, advancing its mission to address climate change by building a better food future. Before Clover she was Product Marketing Manager at the clean energy and sustainability management company Ecova (now ENGIE Impact), where she owned the go-to-market strategy for a spectrum of energy efficiency software solutions, including behavioral demand-side management and smart thermostat programs targeting small businesses.
Jenny holds a BA in Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies with a concentration in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College, where her passion for social change took root. In her free time, she is a wildlife photographer with over 16K Instagram followers, capturing photos to help shine a light on protecting the species that call this planet home. Her work has been published in National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, Siena International Photo Awards, Africa Geo Magazine, Cape Cod Travel Guide Magazine, and more.
