After graduating from Cornell University with a Bachelors in Biology, a concentration in Marine Biology, and two Minors: (1) Environment & Resource Economics, and (2) International Development, Kat has spent 2 years working in the non-profit and private sectors gaining practical work experience. Ultimately, her goal is to combine economics, marine ecology/biology, and a dash of technology in order to shift the incentive structures in small-scale fisheries, ideally in Indonesia. Thus, she intends to begin graduate school shortly to pursue a Masters in Biology/Ecology. After completing her Masters, she plans to enter an Economics PhD program to develop yet another perspective and skill set that can be applied towards small-scale fisheries.
