Matt Haggman

Former Miami Director, Knight Foundation

Matt created and built Knight Foundation’s initiative aimed at propelling Miami’s startup and entrepreneurial community. Over nearly six years, he led the program in an effort to expand opportunity, drive innovation and foster greater problem-solving across one of the most diverse communities in the U.S. Upon leaving this role he was called in The Miami Herald a ‘pioneer in Miami [who] has spearheaded the entrepreneurial movement.'

Previously, Matt was an award-winning journalist for nearly a decade at The Miami Herald and Daily Business Review. Matt’s awards include the Gerald Loeb Award, the highest honor in business journalism. Matt currently serves on the boards of Endeavor Miami, New World Symphony and U.S. Global Leadership Coalition’s Florida Advisory Committee. Most recently, Matt was a candidate for U.S. Congress.

Originally from Cambridge, Mass., Matt has degrees from Tulane University and Vermont Law School.
