Monica Geingos

First Lady, Republic of Namibia

Monica Geingos is a qualified lawyer with extensive executive experience in private equity. Prior to assuming the role of First Lady in 2015, and divesting from her business interests, she was actively involved in high level policy advice on socio-economic development and a co-shareholder and Managing Director of Namibia’s largest private equity fund. In addition to serving on the boards of large public and private sector companies, she was also a founding shareholder and Chairperson of Namibia’s first digitally enabled bank.
Mrs. Geingos has channelled her first-hand insight into the intrinsic relationship between social development challenges and macro-economic trends to the work of the One Economy Foundation. One Economy focuses on sustainably lifting people out of poverty traps and ensuring fair access to opportunities. Mrs. Geingos understands the value of smart partnerships and has also leveraged her extensive network to capacitate rural community-based organisations to deepen their social impact.
