Rachel Biderman is the Executive Director for WRI (World Resources Institute) Brasil. Before joining WRI Brasil, in 2011, she acted as the deputy-coordinator at the Center for Sustainability Studies at FGV Business School in São Paulo, focusing on low carbon business management, civil society engagement in climate change and sustainable public policy development.

Between 2004 and 2005, Ms. Biderman coordinated the environmental dimension of the Brazilian Stock Exchange Sustainability Index (ISE). In the early 2000’s, she was a co-coordinator of the Brazilian Climate Change Forum (FBMC), established by President Cardoso in 2001. She was also a Fellow at the Science, Technology and Society Program at the Harvard JFK School of Government in the fall of 2009.

Ms. Biderman received a PhD in Public Administration from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), holds a Masters in Environmental Sciences from the University of São Paulo, and completed a Masters in International Legal Studies at the American University Washington College of Law. She holds a bachelors degree in law from the University of São Paulo.
