Rafa Fernández Quirós is General Manager, World Without Waste, with the Coca-Cola Latin America Group.
Rafa’s previous position with Coca-Cola was Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability Director for Europe, a role he held until he moved back to Latin America at the end of 2019. He is a company veteran with 30 years of experience in the Coca-Cola business across three continents.
In 1989, Rafa joined The Coca-Cola Company in Madrid, Spain, as Communications Manager after working at the Spanish wire service, EFE. Since that time, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in the global PACS function in Atlanta; San José, Costa Rica; Mexico City, Mexico; and London.
A graduate of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Rafa has authored and co-authored publications on journalism and corporate communications and has lectured at several universities in Spain, the United States and Mexico.
Rafa has a passion for sustainability and is bringing with him the expertise acquired throughout his trajectory with Coca-Cola and, specifically, his knowledge of the trends that have been shaping packaging and waste management in Europe these past three years.
He is now based in Costa Rica.
