Yannick Glemarec is Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director for Policy and Programme for the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). Previously, he was the Executive Coordinator of the Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office from February 2013 to March 2015, after serving as UNDP Executive Coordinator for the Global Environment Facility and Director of Environment Finance from June 2007 to January 2012. Before these positions in New York, he held increasingly responsible positions with UNDP Country Offices in Viet Nam, China, and Bangladesh.

He holds a PhD from the University of Paris in Environment Sciences, and two Master Degrees in Hydrology and in Business Administration. He has authored and co-authored several publications in the field of disaster risk management, sustainable development, clean energy climate finance, and co-benefits between gender equality and climate action for sustainable development.
