Solution Overview

Solution Name:

Crowdlearning.App

One-line solution summary:

The world has changed. The web has an open door to the world. Any one, anywhere, can make an impact. But not everyone does. We change that.

Pitch your solution.

Launching and growing a business online is, in concept, available for all with access to the internet. However the hard reality is that not everyone is taking a fair part on this lucrative movement.

While digital entrepreneurship can be done from the dining table of the woman caring for her kids or from the locked room of the girl in an abusive family situation, the reality is that founders of digital entrepreneurship look the same... Mostly white. Mostly men. Mostly from healthy or stable family backgrounds.

Crowdlearning.App is a proven concept ready to go global to support girls and women by teaching them how to be succesful online.

Weekly classes sent via WhatsApp, in video and pdf formart, teach one case study per week with only 15 minutes of study, each. Crowdlearn.App is already a success because it fits in the time and the pocket of our students!

What specific problem are you solving?

FINANCIAL FREEDOM IS THE FREEDOM OF BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS WORLDWIDE. It is also where the future of money is. However the democracy of online businesses has turned out to not be too democratic after all.

Online businesses are replacing offline companies worldwide, but the share of women taking part of this transformation is simply not fair nor equal.

While the world population is balanced in its male-female ratio:

The world startup revolution is not:

31283_Screenshot%202020-06-18%20at%2016_1440x810.png

And... that's not because women don't do well in the startup digital world:

31284_Screenshot%202020-06-18%20at%2016_1440x810.png

Despite that, out of the 200 companies listed on the GeedkWire200, only 16 of them are led by women, or 8 percent.

GeekWire spoke with investors, founders, and other community leaders to understand the problem.

A combination of education/STEM programs for young women and women having the passion to choose technology over other market segments are listed as top contributors.

We are here to change that by offering digital entrepreneurship education for girls and women worldwide in a way that can easily learn: directly from their phone.

What is your solution?

Crowdlearn.App offers weekly classes on digital entrepreneurship, delivered directly to our members phone, via WhatsApp or SMS.

Our weekly classes are designed to inspire and educate. Our program teaches one case study per week by video and pdf. The product is already launched in Brazil, under the name Você.Expert, with great success among our members.

We also go further, by motivating our members to learn from each other by creating thematic groups by area of interest, geographic proximity and friends.

It's simple: members sign up and start receiving the content every Wednesday, directly on their phone. They have one week to apply what they have learned on that video. Each video class is accompanied by a written apostille. The material is designed with great attention to design, seeking to motivate our members to watch, and keep them engaged. We want to make learning about entrepreurship fun for all. Crowdlearning.App uses techniques of entertainment to teach and engage our learners.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?

Our solution uses techniques of video entertainment to engage any girl or women, from every sphere of society, in learning about entrepreneurship.

Most educational content teaches to those who are ready and want to learn.

We do that, and we go further by creating content that even a non-learner can learn from. It’s fun to learn with us. We teach entrepreneurship with case studies that are easy to follow by viewing our video classes and by reviewing our accompanying apostilles.

It impacts members lives in direct ways (testimonials from real users):

1.     Lanching a new project:

More About Your Solution

If you have additional video content that explains your solution, provide a YouTube or Vimeo link here:

Which of the following categories best describes your solution?

A new business model or process

Describe what makes your solution innovative.

Our solution is innovative because we use WhatsApp and Entertainment to respectively easily deliver and truly engage our audience in learning digital entrepreneurship.

For years, I have been asking the same question: “how do I teach digital entrepreneurship to people who were not taught how to learn, but can stay hours watching TV?”. After launching a best-selling book on making projects come true, Crowdlearn.App is my second answer to that burning question. This is my mission.

The key difference of our product to other EduTech in the industry is how simple and fun it is.

Anyone can easily sign up to be part of the program for a low fee.

Anyone can receive the content and access it from their phone, anywhere, anytime.

No news apps downloaded. No dashboards to access. How easy is that?

And everyone can engage in groups by category and desire.

All at a very low operational cost.

Describe the core technology that powers your solution.

We use WhatsApp for Business to deliver and manage our solution.

We use Audiovisual media to teach.

Our main goal is to continue to use a simple solution already frequently accessed by women and girls worldwide: WhatsApp. We want them to actually watch the videos. Learn the content. Engage. Apply. Grow. Be amazed. Share with other women and girls in their community.

Provide evidence that this technology works.

A print of our member's receipt of content via WhatsApp, a link to our trailers of classes on youtube and a print of real testimonials from our members are the best proof that our program works in solving the challenge we applied for.

1.     A print of our member's receipt of content via WhatsApp (means of delivery):

2.     A link to our trailers of classes on youtube (audiovisual and entertainment EduTech):

3.     Print of real testimonials from our members:

“I am 72 years old and I really want to have financial freedom. I could never understand the digital world. Now I do. Thank you. I feel my needs are heard and that I am not alone anymore” Maria

“I was lost. You saved my life. Thank you. I am a biologist, and didn’t know which direction to go.” Cristina

“I launched my project on Sunday, and I already have 11 applicants. Registration closes on Friday and I only have 4 places left. Studying hard and very happy. Thanks!" – Cris

What is your theory of change?

With Crowdlearn.App, members can review the content anytime from anywhere, without the need of high speed internet or a laptop.

The classes are sent weekly, to each member's WhatsApp or SMS number.

The classes are sent in video and pdf format, with designs and storytelling made to engage.

Content also stays within 15-20 minutes of class to allow for quick learning.

AI technology is being studied to engage members by area of interest and geolocation, in order to micro-segment the teachings as our library of content and members continues to grow.

Crowdlearn.App’s goal is to become a powerhouse EduTech, all done via WhatsApp or SMS.

Most EduTech solutions are brilliant tech companies that unfortunately leave women and the poorest off the learning grid. Our solution changes that. Our innovation relies in being BASIC, in arriving where our public is via WhatsApp or SMS. And on creating content that fits in their lifestyle and schedule.

What barriers currently exist for you to accomplish your goals in the next year and in the next five years?

Our main barrier is one well-known to female founders: lack of funding.

Crowdlearn.App is 100% female lead. It is a well-known fact that women receive less funds than men.

We do not have any technical challenge since we use WhatsApp for Business and easily follow their guidelines. We never SPAM. All content is sent to signed up users only, and they are motivated to share freely among their contact list.

We do not have any legal challenge.

We do not have any cultural challenge, on the opposite, we chose a mean of delivery that is exactly part of the general culture, to increase access and engagement.

There is no market barrier, EduTech via WhatsApp in an entertaining way is an easy sell.

How do you plan to overcome these barriers?

We will achieve growth by using techniques that the founder of Crowdlearn.App used to create her first startup, Kickante, a leader in Latin America in Crowdfunding (community of 2.000.000 users): partners programs, digital marketing, peer-to-peer programs, affiliates, ads, SEO and specially quality content that is easy to share via WhatsApp.
