What specific problem are you solving?
We are solving the accessibility to devices programmed for learning, more specifically illiteracy in vulnerable communities in Colombia, therefore improving learning habits, by providing interaction, and an especially designed program to develop knowledge at any age. Our solution is based in a tablet that will only allow one app, and week by week courses and respective quizzes will be unlocked to follow up in the learning process of the individuals, it will also function with learning badges that would replace grades, This badges will help us gather information and have a more detailed view of a student's learning journey. Badges visually represent student's achievements; because they are digital, badges can link to the specific tasks that a student completed to earn the badge as the course continues (Niguidula, 2020), providing motivation and reward to each person.
What is your solution?
The solution is to create a tablet in which each student can have access to a program that have all the illiteracy courses, where they will be go step by step learning and having more classes in order to get more knowledge, each class will have an exam in order to evaluate the students and check if they acquired the knowledge properly, and therefore be able to continue with the next class and continue with their learning process, being awarded with electronic badges instead of grades.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution is especially useful for vulnerable communities, given that the simple fact that learning how to read and write will open many doors for them, where having any question that they present, they can go now and read to acquire the knowledge they want about any subject without having to depend on others, and in turn have a more general view of the world and the things that happen in it.
How are you and your team well-positioned to deliver this solution?
We have been improving our idea, strengthening our team and vision, as for now we can only provide the idea and the start of prototyping, as we lack the resources to implement the solution.

For now our solution hasn't been implemented but we expect to aid the illiterate population in colombia, that according to the Great Integrated Household Survey (GEIH), of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), the illiteracy rate registered last year is 5.24%, which is equivalent to 1,857,000 Colombians. (Mineducación, 2018) Which we believe will have a great impact.

Badger Inc is composed by 7 full-time employees/members. It’s a team that works from the creative and design part to the financing and sustainability of the project, each member comes with significant contributions and ideas for the correct structuring of the project, so that this idea can be carried out over a long period of time. It’s worth mentioning that our team is characterized by the dedication in each component of the project and by the communication between us and thus complement each other for the good of the project.
How long have you been working on your solution?
Our team has been devising and concretizing the project for approximately a month and a few days. However, in this short period of time, we have streamlined our solution in an efficient and agile way to have a great solution in terms of collaboration to our target market and innovation to surprise with the quality and, offcourse, help solve the existing inequalities in our society the best possible way. We had multiple ideas at the beginning and we realized that some of them complemented each other correctly and we quickly made the decision to build a solution based on those contributions and from that moment on we dedicated a lot of time to the rest of main aspects such as the design of the platform, marketing strategy and financing both short and long term.
