COMFIED plays in the 4th space.  The value proposition of COMFED is AI-driven workplace performance enhancements to individuals, teams and corporates.

COMFIED is an AI-powered mobile game that senses, rates and predicts mental performance cycles. Using its can be as simple as playing 2-minute mobile games and let it report personal mental performance cycles on the mobile game screen, or more intricately by integrating gameplay data with human resource management and project management systems via APIs to optimize group work schedules.

Mobile gaming reaches more than half of all smartphone users.  It is therefore the platform of choice for digital inclusion.  The COMFIED mobile game is a daily inter-city tournament, played in over 4,000 cities globally.  COMFIED works both offline and online.  For online users, gaming content is updated daily, free of charge, for utility value.  The primary output is an open data map of city minds – a treasure trove for data scientists and app developers to analyze on real-time urban problem-solving perspectives, migrant connections and thought processes diversity.  COMFIED will enable new mashups for urban population research and provide tools for researchers to test for efficacy of the mental cycle theory. COMFIED is “communities quantified”.

Faced with a near-term future where advancements in AI will keep expanding the gap between the best and rest in education, productivity and smart cities, there is immediate need for low-cost, versatile AI inclusion tools.  Most of Africa, South America and Asian countries are trailing in AI investments, with budgets skewed towards physical infrastructure.  This is the primary motivation to build COMFIED and avail it on low-end android devices.

COMFIED generates universal “neo IQ” – a dynamic, digital rating of mental cycles and problem-solving styles.  This rating will power optimized work productivity and disrupt human resource models in more than one way:  Job applicants will be able to include their COMFIED-generated “neo IQ” rating on their resumes so that recruiters can create most compatible teams in terms of problem solving style and mental performance cycles;  Once on the job, the most demanding tasks can be scheduled as per human team peak performances;  Remuneration for knowledge-based work can vary dynamically by the time-of-day-worker-predicted-performance, so that enterprises spend less on wages when projected output is lower.

The undervalued piece in the smart city puzzle is smart social care.  As most formal work gets automated, social care will escape automation and remain human-centric, retaining its human touch and purpose.  And if smart social care can be profitably commercialized, then it will become the urban employer of the future.  Smart social care will deliver healthcare to seniors who are now retiring with smartphones in their hands.  The “smart” will be a process that begins with non-intrusive personal and population health data collection, and ultimately generate proactive healthcare alerts.

What makes our solution innovative:

COMFIED is a software-only-sensor with predictive capability and high-margin mobile micro-business potential.

Eliminating the need for specialized hardware sensors drops user acquisition costs to near-zero, allowing mass adoption.

Accurately predicting mental performance cycles translates to productivity gains, cost reductions and time savings for knowledge-based enterprises.

With mobile money ubiquity and stiff competition, reliance the money transfer transaction fee model is no longer sustainable.  COMFIED adds an income layer with high margins to mobile money by promising to pay up to 40% commissions to mobile money vendors selling COMFIED subscriptions, bringing dual benefits of local social impact and local incomes.

How technology is integral to our solution:

COMFIED runs on a predictive artificial intelligence engine.

Using AI mobile gaming to accurately predict human mental cycles is now possible because even low-end smartphones have enough processing and storage capacity to crunch complex AI computations. COMFIED’s efficacy is not yet proven.  To speed efficacy up tests, COMFIED data will provide open data for third-party researchers to analyse.  There is also a free 90-day API for HRM and project management systems developers to integrate personal and team performance data into their work scheduling systems, so as to test productivity improvements.

Aug 2018 – Oct 2018/ Getting the first 1 million app users

Nov 2018 - Dec 2018/ Starting to monetize, recruiting the founding team, raising seed funding and building a community of value-add app developers Jan 2019 – Jul 2019/ Publishing papers and presenting at findings at mobile innovation, big data and AI events.

Our vision over the next three to five years to grow and scale our solution to affect the lives of more people:

COMFIED is a versatile tool, with applications in healthcare, marketing, human resource and education.  As a marketing tool, it can be used to determine time-windows when the targeted consumer or consumer cluster is most receptive; It can provide data for spotting signs of impending mental breakdown.

Gaming is the entry point.  After growth into the 10s of millions of users, COMFIED will make a push into education, health, marketing and human resource as a serious life-time-money saving tool.

The best-case scenario is for COMFIED to ship pre-installed on android devices within the next 5 years.

COMFIED plans to sell subscription tokens for $11.99 through micro enterprises in 4,000 cities.  Retail margins will be up to 40%.  This double gain of impactful localized social care and profitable local business will bring sustainable high-margin profitability to digital content apps and the mobile money services industry.

Why we are applying to Solve:

COMFIED would at best attain its primary objective of inclusion by having the app pre-installed in android phones.  This would require a partnership with Google.

Applying to Solve opens up access to Google leadership in the US to enable this partnership.
