Richard Rowe is Founder and CEO of the Open Learning Exchange (OLE). OLE is a 501(c)(3), Social Benefit Organization, founded in 2007, committed to achieving quality, meaningful universal education in resource-poor areas of the world. An advocate for using low-cost personalized learning technologies, Dr. Rowe focuses on innovative learning systems and assessments of learning outcomes. OLE has developed personal, team-based learning programs for adolescent girls and young adults with Somali and Syrian refugees. He received his PhD in clinical psychology in 1963 from Columbia University, was Director of Test Development and Research of the West African Examinations Council and subsequently Associate Dean of Harvard's Graduate School of Education. He has served on the Massachusetts State Board of Education, on the faculty of Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, as a member of the MIT Press Advisory Board, and as President of the One Laptop Per Child Foundation. Currently, he serves on the Board of the Small Planet Institute.
